THE DRILL -

Most sprints in football are around 6m in length so this drill is perfect for improving your acceleration and ability to change direction at high speed.

KEY POINTS -

  • When accelerating away use powerful and purposeful strides (as opposed to fast feet)

  • Stay low and tight to the cones when changing direction

  • Make sure you run around each cone and don't cut any corners
