“I have worked days from 6am through to 6pm as a builder, and I didn’t become a professional footballer until I was 22.
“Because of that I appreciate what I have now and never take anything for granted. “As my past has shown, with one slip-up it can all be taken away.
“I am not the most naturally talented person – I’m the first to say that – but my hard work will overcome that.
